Today the girls and I set out on our own to check out the little town of Devonport located across from Auckland. We took the ferry which was a 10 minute ride to the seaside port. We learned to navigate the stroller on and off the ferry and became more attentive to watching for cars coming from directions opposite from what we are used to!
After a delicious lunch we spent time on the playground where Emma made new friends, Ruby and Sophie who were visiting from Sidney, Australia. Emma conqured the big slide and took her sister Molly on the smaller slide. After some time gathering shells on the beach followed by a short mini-carosel ride, we headed back to Auckland. JP was in meetings and so we had a very nice dinner on our own - the early bird special menu at a nearby Thai restaurant. It was delicious and we left just as the evening crowds started to roll in - I didn't think they'd appreciate Molly's noodle slinging skills (as entertaining as that is)!
